Violins, alt-violins and cellos are not made on order. These instruments are produced on a regular basis. Besides our own models, most instruments are built after old Italian Master models.
Besides his activities as a violin maker in his own workshop, Luc Deneys is active as a guest professor violin making at the Ghent High School, department Royal Music Conservatory. He guides his students to their bachelor and master's degrees in contemporary violin making. He pays a lot of attention to developing new violin making ideas, but historical instruments are stadied and made as well.
On demand of the virtuoso violinist Jenny Spanoghe, a special 5- string violin was made. Because of the tremendous success of this instrument and its international response among composers, this experiment is worked out for 3 complete 5-string instrument quartet. |
